CBD bath bombs are all the rage right now, but are they good for you? CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a compound found in the cannabis plant. It’s non-psychoactive and non-addictive, but products containing CBD have been known to have positive effects on the body, including reducing inflammation, pain relief, and easing anxiety. When you add CBD to a bath bomb, the CBD seeps through the skin, delivering its healing benefits directly. So, what benefits does it have?


The stress of daily life can often make us feel like we’re at the end of our rope. As humans, we’ve evolved to deal with stress, but the fast pace and constant demands of modern life can leave us feeling drained and unable to cope. Fortunately, CBD is able to relax the body, calm the mind and relieve anxiety. It activates serotonin receptors, kickstarting serotonin production and alleviating stress.

CBD bath bombs are also a great way to keep your skin looking healthy and soft. They can be great for people who suffer from skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis, making them ideal for incorporating into your skincare regime. CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory, so if you suffer from rosacea or dermatitis, this should finally give you some relief. Similarly, it is full of antioxidants, so soaking in the bath with a CBD bath bomb will counteract the free-radical damage caused by day-to-day life, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, reducing redness, and giving your skin an overall glow.

Clinical trials of CBD have demonstrated a significant reduction in seizures for people with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome, two types of epilepsy, whilst it’s also known to reduce seizure activity for those with the genetic disorder tuberous sclerosis complex. Currently, a CBD drug called Epidolex can be prescribed in certain cases, but a CBD-rich bath bomb may also be able to help.

CBD bath bombs can be used for a whole host of issues, and whilst they can’t treat everything, they’re worth a go. Even if you don’t find they help with one issue, you may just find your skin suddenly has a gorgeous glow, or your tiredness has suddenly vanished!
